Ayouba Swaray
In His Own Words
Going to Trinity College.
My activities include mentoring 5th graders for 3 years in a row, working at the Trenton Soup Kitchen and the church on Christmas for the needy, being an avid Meals on Wheels member, being a director of the Trenton Student Voice Power Movement - where we led the fight to keep our AP and Honors classes, and my personal favorite: The Tiny House Project. Over the course of a year a small of group of my peers and I, with the help of our mentor, built a tiny sustainable house for the homeless as that is a prevalent issue I even wrote a science dissertation on. I live to help others as I empathize with the struggle of having little help or being overlooked. In my personal life, I play soccer both club and varsity and was captain, all-CVC, and all State my senior year. I'm also in the Science Mentors program (a non-profit science engagement program), the Princeton University Preparatory Program (a low-income high-achieving college prep program fund by Princeton University), and head of my Journalism club to list a few. I've worked extensively with the likes of Mayor Reed Gusiora and Councilwoman Bonnie Watson Coleman, giving my input as a youth living in the community trying to make it reach its full potential. I am a very inquisitive, outgoing person who loves to make people laugh and do my part in making the world a better place and giving back.
